Why generations are stupid

Society seems to be obsessed with generating attention. Businesses target children with advertisements and rewards. Children post themselves and everything they think online now. Privacy is basically a joke to some people. Why are likes so rewarding though?

From the moment I turned 13 years old, my mother wanted to show me how to make my own Facebook profile. I didn't know anything about it other than she used it to talk to family all the time. For those of us that thought these networks were created for socializing and gossiping, we weren't too far off actually.

It's kind of stupid to think that everything can be huge now. I mean there's an image of an egg that has more internet attention right now than anything else just so it could beat an internet celebrity.

This generation is plagued by social media advertisements. You can really see what it's like to become attached to attention by watching something that came out in 2014 called Generation Like. Of course there are new developments and updates since the film came out, but it still captures the idea that teenagers, adults and children are all in this together. It's never just "that" generation at fault when you get old and grumpy.

It's really crazy to think about how our futures are going to play out and how much impact this can have. I mean, look at the current President of The United States, Donald Trump. He snowballed in the election because he was constantly tweeting at all times. Trump really brought attention to himself by basically advertising...Trump?

Social media can impact so much in negative and positive ways. I do think everyone can be at fault and the stupid can be blamed on anything. Even so, with all the stupid out there, there is still genius and wonders that will impact the world in a progressive way.

How can you impact those around you with social media?
